Clip format tips that get views

Length, framing, and audio that perform best.

Keep clips under 60 seconds, lead with the hook in the first 3 seconds, and balance game audio with commentary. Vertical 9:16 performs best in feed previews; 16:9 is fine for full-screen viewing.

1

The first 3 seconds

Most viewers swipe in under 3 seconds if nothing grabs them. Lead with the climax — the kill, the clutch, the reaction — and let the setup play out after. A cold open with no context but huge payoff outperforms a chronological build almost every time.

2

Length & pacing

Under 60 seconds for highlights. Under 30 if you can do it without losing the moment. Long-form analysis (1–3 minutes) belongs in dedicated posts, not the highlight reel.

3

Audio

Game audio at -12dB, voice at -6dB is a good starting mix. Don't over-process — a little compression goes a long way and a heavy normalize makes everything sound the same.

💡 Tip

Add captions. Roughly 60% of feed viewers watch muted. No captions = no view.

4

Aspect ratio

9:16 vertical is autoplayed full-frame in the feed and outperforms 16:9 there by ~3x. Save 16:9 for clips meant to be opened and watched intentionally.
